shaun wickWe are delighted and grateful to be able to announce that
Shaun Wick is our new EFCC President!
At the Special General Meeting (SGM) held online on September 20, 2025,
there was only one motion: the election of Shaun Wick. This SGM had what
we believe to be the highest turnout of delegates the EFCC has experienced
to date (certainly in the last 20 years), and the greatest representation of local
churches ever seen: 110 out of the 147 churches that comprise the EFCC family
of churches. It’s good to see so many people eager to take an active role in the
future of the EFCC.
Shaun’s official start date is October 1, 2025.Read shaun's message to the efcc familyefcc

In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, charity. In all things, Jesus Christ.

The Evangelical Free Church of Canada (EFCC) is an association of 140+ churches and numerous missionaries, including mission agents, united by a common commitment to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, a common Statement of Faith, a shared Character and Calling, and a commitment to the Word of God.

Endings & Beginnings

As we enter the Christmas season and look ahead to a new year, a few things may appear differently in our EFCC Prayer Guide. Instead of our usual collection of specific prayer requests, we invite you to focus on praying for the wider EFCC family. Pray for our churches, pastors, and missionaries connected to EFCC. We encourage you to set aside intentional time to lift these individuals and ministries in prayer. To get hold of the list of EFCC leaders and their respective churches and ministries to pray for, click on the link below.

Project: LEAD

Have you noticed this?

All across Canada, pastors are retiring at a far faster rate than they’re being replaced, and leaders in many churches are looking for help. Project: LEAD is our plan to address this for the EFCC. What is it? By providing generous bursaries for ministry students attending one of our partner schools, and equipping leaders in our churches through EFCC Leadership Training, we are working to meet the needs of our local EFCC churches.

Book Reviews

September Book Reviews. Four books. Four reviews. This month, Terry Kaufman, EFCC Leadership Catalyst, describes, analyzes, and evaluates books by John Currie (The Pastor as Leader), Thom S. Rainer (Anatomy of Revived Church), Brad Edwards (The Reason for Church), and Alister McGrath (Historical Theology). Read all of Terry Kaufman’s comments on each of the four books here.

Seminar 1: This three-part seminar builds on EFCC Orientation. It explores how EFCC history, ethos, and polity work in the local church context and how we ought to handle disagreements over practices linked to “in non-essentials, charity.”
Seminar 2: This seminar will explore the role of the Bible in ministry in the 21st century in the EFCC in light of the history of the church. Topics include the nature of Scripture as the book of the church.
